Our client, a global multinational, sought detailed reverse engineering and product analysis to better understand competitor offerings across international markets. To achieve this, Discuvr was engaged to source commercial products from around the world and conduct bespoke technical testing aligned with the client’s strategic objectives.

Discuvr was asked to:
• Source and procure competitor products from multiple global markets
• Develop and execute a custom reverse engineering and testing program
• Deliver high-quality, insight-rich reporting and technical documentation

Discuvr leveraged its global sourcing network and technical expertise to execute a complete end-toend analysis:
• Global Sourcing – Products were sourced from 7 different countries using our trusted procurement network, ensuring authentic and representative samples.
• Bespoke Testing Design – We collaborated with our accredited testing partners to co-develop custom protocols tailored to the client’s specific investigative goals.
• Fixture & Jig Development – Custom test fixtures and jigs were designed and manufactured inhouse to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements across all product types.
• Comprehensive Analysis – Each product underwent rigorous testing, supported by detailed reporting including test results, calibration certificates, high-resolution imagery (pre- and posttest), and microscope analysis.
We confirmed that the company’s initial concept was promising and mission-driven. However, during our review, we discovered that the technology under development had diverged significantly from what was originally proposed, and was no longer aligned with the company’s existing IP protection.
Our prior art search revealed a critical risk: a well-established U.S. competitor was already selling a near identical product, backed by multiple patents. This created a major barrier to the startup’s freedom to operate.
We found the business model relied heavily on obtaining permits in certain jurisdictions a process with uncertain timelines and outcomes.
The numbers did not support the business case. Freshwater output was much lower than expected, while financial payback was projected to take significantly longer than originally outlined.

Within weeks, Discuvr delivered a full testing package including all product samples, custom testing equipment, and a complete set of data and visuals. The client gained deep insight into the design, performance, and construction of competitive products—enabling informed strategic decisions and future innovation planning.

When timelines are tight and technical detail matters, a global network combined with in-house engineering and tailored testing protocols can deliver unmatched speed and insight. Discuvr enables clients to decode the competition with precision and clarity.
